US ANTI-RABIES TEAM VISITS LOON. Loon Mayor Lloyd Peter M. Lopez, MD (center) is flanked by senior students of the University of Texas Anti-Rabies Team who paid a courtesy call in his office on July 6, 2009. The anti-rabies group from the United States is part of an on-going research study to scientifically assess the effectiveness of the operation of the Bohol Rabies Prevention and Eradication Program which is now on its 3rd year of implementation. Thirty-six (36) municipalities and forty-six (46) barangays in the province are identified as study areas by the research team composed of staff from the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, which is headed by Provincial Veterinarian Stella Marie D. Lapiz, DVM; personnel from the Alliance of Rabies Control and the University of Texas Anti-Rabies Team. In Loon, the research team members focus their study in barangays Cabadug and Pondol.
