Sidlak Loon Arnis Club, for bringing honor to the town with their outstanding performance at the SGM Cacoy Cañete FMA Fest 2025 World Tournament, held on August 6–10, 2025, at Cebu Technological University–Main, Cebu City. Representing Loon with discipline and passion, 21 Loonanon athletes secured a total of 24 medals:

Mayor Lopez lauded the young athletes for excelling in sports, emphasizing that such achievements keep the youth away from harmful distractions and vices.
The Mayor also announced an upcoming Executive Committee (Execom) Meeting to address pending issues and concerns from recent weeks.
Strengthening Partnerships for Good Governance
Mayor Lopez underscored the LGU’s strengthened collaboration with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), guided by MLGOO Ms. Glenda Laude, highlighting the importance of participatory governance. He noted that these organizations—being voluntary and non-profit—serve as vital links between the community and the LGU, ensuring that governance is responsive, transparent, and accountable.
He also reaffirmed the partnership between the LGU-Loon and the Kahogpongan sa Kababayen-ang Loonanon (KKL), recognizing their role in advancing the welfare of women and communities.
Supporting the Fisheries Sector
The Mayor revisited the recent Fishermen’s Forum at Mercado de Loon, expressing appreciation for the strong relationship between the LGU and local fisherfolk. He conveyed optimism that this cooperation will help prevent violations while working toward fair pricing of fish—ensuring affordability without undermining the livelihood of fishers. He also hinted at plans for a systematic night market to make fresh fish more accessible at lower prices.
Fiesta Preparations and Cultural Celebration
With just four weeks to go before Loon’s town fiesta, Mayor Lopez commended the fiesta committees for their diligent preparations. He emphasized that the events should be accessible to all Loonanons, fostering joy and community spirit. The Mayor also mentioned the Kasilak Caravan, in which the image of the Birhen sa Kasilak will visit various chapels in Loon, including the LGU, where a special mass at 3:00 p.m. and vigil schedules for each office have been set.
The ceremony concluded with Mayor Lopez extending his greetings—“Madanihong Adlaw sa Tanan”—a reminder of unity, gratitude, and shared purpose for the people of Loon.
