34th Regular Flag-Raising Ceremony of 2025
Municipality of Loon Center Grounds
On this bright Monday morning, the Municipality of Loon once again gathered as one community to celebrate the 34th Regular Flag-Raising Ceremony of 2025 at the Municipal Center Grounds. The ceremony was solemnly led by Mayor Cesar Tomas M. Lopez, M.D. and Vice Mayor Pedro M. Literatus, Jr., together with the 16th Sangguniang Bayan, municipal employees, national government agencies, as well as representatives from the BFP-Loon and PNP-Loon. The event was proudly hosted by the Loon Waterworks System.

In his address, Mayor Lopez expressed his gratitude to the Loon Waterworks System not only for hosting the ceremony but also for being recognized as the top revenue contributor of the municipality. He extended his appreciation to all department heads, rank-and-file employees, and the 16th Sangguniang Bayan—our agents of governance in the municipality—acknowledging Vice Mayor Dodong Literatus and SB Members Jeanette Vidal, Mariel Juntilla, Etel Palma, Tata Laniba, Dondon Relampagos, Dondon Marapao, Rain Merquita, and Ruel Legitimas for their service and dedication.
The Mayor also highlighted one of the municipality’s proudest achievements this year: Loon being chosen as host for the Boholympics swimming category held at the Tubig-Loon Spring Park, which boasts an Olympic-size swimming pool. Loonanons emerged victorious, clinching several gold medals not only in swimming but also in other events held in Tagbilaran City. Mayor Lopez emphasized that these triumphs show the many “facets of Loon Madanihon”—like a diamond that shines in governance, infrastructure, tourism, sports, and cultural pride.
Looking forward, the Mayor encouraged all offices and employees to work together in preparing for the upcoming Municipal Fiesta, hoping to make it a memorable celebration for everyone. He also reminded constituents of today’s third AKAP payout schedule at the Loon Town Square, where beneficiaries from different districts will be receiving their assistance.
On a more personal note, Mayor Lopez reiterated his advocacy for health and wellness among LGU employees. He announced that in coordination with RHU-1, regular blood pressure monitoring will continue to be conducted every two weeks, ensuring that public servants remain mindful of their health and fitness.
As he concluded his message, Mayor Lopez emphasized that all undertakings and operations of the LGU must remain under the ambit of ISO standards—anchored in order, discipline, and efficiency. He ended with heartfelt words of gratitude:
“Daghang salamat ug Maayong buntag sa tanan.”
Making Loon Madanihon rise and shine… from Local to Global!
