In line with the vision of building a healthier, empowered, and future-ready generation of Loonanons, the Local Government Unit of Loon, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Dr. Cesar Tomas M. Lopez, proudly celebrates the successful launching of the Level I Adolescent Friendly Health Facility (AFHF) at the Loon Rural Health Unit 2 and Birthing Center on June 5, 2026.
This significant milestone strengthens the Municipality’s commitment to ensuring that young people have access to quality, responsive, and youth-centered healthcare services. As an ISO-certified institution, RHU 2 continues to uphold excellence in public health service delivery while creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where adolescents can access appropriate health information, guidance, and care.
The activity was graced by Mayor Lopez, Vice Mayor Pedro M. Literatus Jr., members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Committee on Health Chairperson Hon. Marie Hazel R. Saavedra, RN, SK Federated Chairperson Hon. Mariel Juntilla, SK officers, representatives from the Department of Health, Provincial Health Office, Department of Education, municipal offices, and various community stakeholders who continue to champion youth welfare and development.
Mayor Lopez emphasized the importance of investing in the health and well-being of young people, recognizing them as vital partners in building a progressive and resilient Municipality of Loon. Through initiatives such as the Adolescent Friendly Health Facility, the local government continues to promote preventive healthcare, mental wellness, responsible decision-making, and healthy lifestyles among the youth sector.
The Municipality likewise commends the dedicated personnel of Loon RHU 2 and Birthing Center, headed by Dr. Shannen Jaye O. Langcamon, for their commitment and hard work in achieving this recognition. Special appreciation is also extended to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Ma. Marnelli L. Maquindang, RSW, and to all partners and stakeholders whose collaboration made this milestone possible.
This achievement stands as a testament to what can be accomplished through strong leadership, collaborative governance, and a shared commitment to empowering the next generation of Loonanons.
