Initao, Misamis Oriental Officials Conduct Learning Exchange Visit in Loon, Bohol to Study Waterworks and Tourism Development Best Practices

The Municipality of Loon, under the leadership of Mayor Pedro “Dodong” M. Literatus, Jr., graciously welcomed the official delegation from the Municipality of Initao, Misamis Oriental, led by the Team of Mayor Mercy Grace J. Acain, during their courtesy visit and learning exchange earlier today. The visit aimed to strengthen inter-local government collaboration through the sharing of best practices, particularly in the fields of water system management, tourism development, and good governance.

In its official communication, the Municipality of Loon, extended a warm invitation to the officials of Initao, Misamis Oriental to conduct a learning visit in Loon. The correspondence highlighted the municipality’s willingness to share its best practices in the management and operation of the Loon Waterworks System—an economic enterprise that consistently generates substantial revenue for the local government—and its successful initiatives in sustainable tourism and sound administrative governance. These efforts, rooted in quality and accountability, reflect Loon’s continuing commitment as the first ISO 9001:2015-certified LGU in the Province of Bohol.

Following the courtesy call, the delegation was given an immersive tour of Loon’s flagship attractions, including the Loon Spring Park and the Our Lady of Light (Birhen sa Kasilak) Church, both of which embody the town’s natural charm, cultural heritage, and devotion. The Municipality of Loon extends its heartfelt appreciation to the LGU of Initao for their visit and interest in Loon’s initiatives.
