The Local Government Unit of Loon, under the leadership of Mayor Pedro “Dodong” M. Literatus, Jr., together with the Colegio de Loon headed by Dr. Prisciano S. Legitimas, extends its warmest greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Bohol Island State University (BISU) as it celebrates its 16th Charter Day Anniversary today, October 14, 2025.
Established through Republic Act No. 9722, authored by former Congressman Edgar Chatto, BISU continues to stand tall as the province’s only state university—an institution of excellence in academic instruction, research, and community service. For sixteen years, it has consistently upheld its mission of fostering innovation, advancing knowledge, and producing graduates who embody competence, leadership, and integrity—qualities that continue to drive the development and progress of the Boholano community and beyond.
In his message, Dr. Prisciano S. Legitimas, President of Colegio de Loon, expressed:
“Warmest congratulations to Bohol Island State University on the 16th anniversary of achieving university status—16 years of advancing knowledge, service, innovation, and scholarship. We, in LGU-Loon together with the Colegio de Loon, commend Bohol Island State University for its enduring dedication to quality education and societal impact.”
The Municipal Government of Loon and the people of the municipality join the entire BISU system—its administration, faculty, students, and alumni—in celebrating this milestone. May BISU continue to be a beacon of academic excellence, public service, and transformative leadership, nurturing generations of learners who will contribute to a brighter and more resilient future for Bohol and the nation.
Happy 16th Charter Day, Bohol Island State University!
