The Municipality of Loon formally opened the year 2026 with the conduct of the Regular Flag-Raising Ceremony No. FR-01-2026 at the Municipality of Loon Activity Center, led by Mayor Pedro M. Literatus, Jr. and Vice Mayor Jorge J. Marapao, Jr., together with the members of the 16th Sangguniang Bayan. The ceremony was attended by municipal employees, partner National Government Agencies (NGAs), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Bureau of Fire Protection–Loon, and the Philippine National Police–Loon, marking a collective and meaningful start of the year anchored on discipline, patriotism, and dedicated public service. The event was hosted by the Municipal Accounting Office, symbolizing accountability and stewardship as guiding principles for the year ahead.

As the Philippine flag was raised, the gathering reflected a shared resolve to move forward as one LGU family—strengthened by collaboration and a common purpose. In behalf of the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Marie Hazel Saavedra delivered the welcome remarks, warmly greeting everyone a Happy New Year and recalling the milestones, partnerships, and services achieved through collective effort in the past year. She acknowledged the presence of department heads, municipal employees, fellow members of the 16th Sangguniang Bayan including Hon. Rain Merquita and Hon. Ruel Legitimas, as well as Liga ng mga Barangay President Hon. Tata Laniba, recognizing the vital roles each sector plays in advancing local governance.
With no further announcements for the day, Hon. Saavedra concluded the ceremony with a meaningful reminder drawn from Matthew 6:33: “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” The verse served as both a reflection and an inspiration—encouraging everyone to begin the year grounded in faith, integrity, and service.
As Loon steps into 2026, the LGU renews its commitment to excellence in governance and to uplifting the lives of every Loonanon, united in purpose as it continues to make Loon Madanihon rise and shine—from local to global.
