The Municipality of Loon reaffirms its commitment to quality public service as all designated Internal Quality Auditors (IQAs) completed Day 1 of the Internal Audit Refresher and Nonconformities and Corrective Actions Training, as facilitated by the QMS Office.
Led by QMS Consultant Mr. Mark Lugay, the session provided an in-depth review of ISO 9001:2015 standards and their direct application to LGU-Loon processes. The discussion focused on aligning municipal systems, procedures, and documented practices with the clauses of the international standard to ensure accountability, efficiency, and citizen-focused service delivery.
The training emphasized critical components such as leadership accountability, risk-based planning, documented process control, performance monitoring, and systematic improvement mechanisms. Participants also revisited the principles of ISO 19011:2018, which provides structured guidelines for auditing management systems—ensuring audits are conducted with objectivity, competence, and evidence-based evaluation.
Through case studies and simulation exercises, the IQAs strengthened their capability to identify nonconformities, validate audit findings through objective evidence, prepare audit plans, and recommend corrective actions that promote sustainable improvements within the organization.
This initiative reflects LGU-Loon’s proactive approach in institutionalizing quality assurance mechanisms and fostering a culture of transparency, compliance, and continuous improvement in delivering services to the Loonanon community.
