The Municipality of Loon joins the entire Catholic community today, December 8, in the solemn celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception—one of the most significant Marian solemnities of the Church. This feast honors the belief that the Blessed Virgin Mary, chosen to be the Mother of Jesus, was conceived without original sin through God’s divine grace.
As churches hold special Masses and devotees offer prayers and acts of devotion, Loonanons are reminded of Mary’s purity, obedience, and unwavering faith. Today’s observance also forms part of the Advent season, deepening the spiritual preparation for Christmas.
The Local Government Unit of Loon encourages the community to reflect, give thanks, and participate meaningfully in today’s liturgical celebration. May this day strengthen our faith, unity, and hope as we honor the Blessed Mother.
