The Municipality of Loon reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to a safer, healthier, and drug-free community as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Bohol Provincial Office conducted the Onsite Validation of Drug-Free and Drug-Cleared Barangays on June 4, 2026 at the Loon Town Square Gymnasium.
The activity forms part of the continuing implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) pursuant to Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021, and the conduct of the Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit under DILG-DDB Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2018-01. The validation covered twenty-one (21) drug-cleared barangays and four (4) drug-free barangays of the municipality, highlighting Loon’s sustained efforts in combating illegal drugs and strengthening community-based prevention programs.
The validation team was warmly welcomed by Mayor Cesar Tomas M. Lopez, M.D., whose administration continues to prioritize peace and order, public health, youth protection, and community development as essential foundations of a progressive and resilient municipality. In his message, Mayor Lopez emphasized that the fight against illegal drugs is a shared responsibility that requires strong collaboration among local government units, barangays, law enforcement agencies, health workers, educators, families, and the community.
Present during the activity were IA III Melissa J. Montesa and IO1 Elenita Mulato of PDEA-Bohol Provincial Office, PCPL Charlene Samante of the Bohol Police Provincial Office, Dr. Maria Victoria D. Lamparas, Municipal Health Officer and MADAC Focal Person, Glenda Asoy-Laude, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO), Ma. Marnelli L. Maquindang, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, PCPT Rodney A. Bantolo, Chief of Police of Loon Municipal Police Station, together with Barangay Captains, BADAC Focal Persons, and members of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils from participating barangays.
The validation process assessed the compliance, performance, and sustainability of anti-drug initiatives being implemented at the barangay level, including advocacy programs, rehabilitation and intervention efforts, community participation, and the overall functionality of local anti-drug abuse councils.
