The Municipality of Loon convened at the Municipal Activity Center for the Regular Flag-Raising Ceremony No. FR-18-2026, led by Mayor Pedro M. Literatus, Jr. and Vice Mayor Jorge J. Marapao, Jr., together with the members of the 16th Sangguniang Bayan. The ceremony gathered municipal employees, department heads, and partner National Government Agencies (NGAs), including the DILG, COMELEC, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Philippine National Police, in a unified expression of discipline, patriotism, and public service.

Hosted by the Supply and Property Management Office, the activity highlighted the vital role of logistics, accountability, and efficient resource management in sustaining government operations. The office is currently led by the newly appointed Supply Officer, Mr. Norman Torremocha, together with the hardworking GSO (SPMO) team, whose collective efforts ensure the proper management, distribution, and safeguarding of government resources in support of frontline services.
In his address, Mayor Literatus warmly greeted everyone, reminding all employees to remain cautious amid the unpredictable weather conditions—“amping mo sa uwan-uwan ug sa kainit,”—especially as the municipality enters the busy fiesta season this month of May.
The Mayor extended his appreciation to the General Services Office (GSO) for successfully hosting the ceremony and acknowledged Mr. Torremocha and the entire team for their dedication and efficiency in delivering essential support services. He then proceeded to deliver two key policy updates affecting the entire Local Government Unit.
First, the Mayor announced the issuance of Executive Order No. 30, which formally lifts Executive Order No. 27. This development restores normalcy in the conduct of public gatherings, including fiestas, community events, seminars, and other social activities across the municipality. These activities remain subject to existing laws and municipal ordinances to ensure order, safety, and accountability.
Despite the lifting of restrictions, Mayor Literatus emphasized that energy conservation efforts must continue. In line with the directive from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., all offices, barangays, officials, and employees are strongly encouraged to sustain prudent use of government resources. He reiterated that while activities are now allowed, responsible consumption of energy remains a shared obligation—“padayon gihapon ta sa energy-saving practices bisan balik na ang mga kalihokan.”
The Mayor also acknowledged the challenges previously experienced during the enforcement of restrictions, particularly in relation to fiesta activities. With fuel prices now significantly reduced compared to previous weeks, he expressed optimism that communities can celebrate responsibly while maintaining discipline and moderation.
On the matter of office operations, the Mayor shared that discussions are ongoing regarding a possible return to the regular 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM work schedule. However, this remains under review, and employees are advised to await further official guidance before any changes are implemented.
In closing, Mayor Literatus called on all employees to prioritize their health and well-being amid the fluctuating weather conditions—init ug kalit nga ulan—especially during the festive season. He emphasized that maintaining good health is essential in delivering consistent and quality public service to the people of Loon.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment from all sectors to uphold efficient governance, responsible resource management, and unwavering service to the Loonanon community.
Daghang salamat ug maayong buntag kanatong tanan.
