Mayor Literatus Orders Half-Day Class Suspension in Loon as Safety Precaution Amid Aftershocks

In the continuing commitment of the Local Government of Loon to ensure the safety and well-being of its constituents, Municipal Mayor Pedro “Dodong” M. Literatus, Jr., as the Local Chief Executive, has ordered the HALF-DAY SUSPENSION of classes on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, for all levels in both public and private schools within the Municipality of Loon.

This directive comes following the reassessment of the current situation and after considering the concerns raised by parents and guardians, particularly in light of the aftershocks recently felt in various areas. The decision underscores the municipal government’s proactive approach in ensuring the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel while allowing time for further evaluation of local conditions.

Classes are expected to resume this afternoon, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, provided that no additional aftershocks or safety risks occur. The half-day suspension also aligns with the Mayor’s attendance at the Emergency Coordination Meeting scheduled today with representatives from PHIVOLCS, PAGASA, and the Department of Education (Bohol and Tagbilaran Divisions). This meeting will focus on establishing clear parameters and coordination mechanisms for class suspensions during calamities or impending hazards, ensuring that future decisions are both science-based and community-centered.

Mayor Literatus emphasized that the welfare of the people shall always remain the highest priority of the local government. Through transparent communication, active coordination, and timely dissemination of verified information, the Municipality of Loon continues to uphold its mandate to protect every Loonanon in times of uncertainty.

The Municipal Government of Loon urges everyone to stay alert, remain calm, and follow official advisories from trusted sources. Let us continue to work together in promoting safety, preparedness, and solidarity within our community.
