On September 20, 2025 (Saturday) at 6:00 a.m., the Local Government Unit of Loon together with the people of Loon will actively take part in the 40th International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) with the theme “Clean Seas against the Climate Crisis.”
This global movement is a call to action to safeguard our seas, protect marine biodiversity, and preserve our shared heritage for future generations.
In Loon, the cleanup will be conducted across coastlines and riverbanks, with the participation of:
- Government agencies: Municipal, provincial, and national government offices, Land Bank of the Philippines – Bohol Field Unit, and the 702nd Mobile Force Company.
Barangays: All island, coastal, and riverside barangays.
- Public schools: Loon South Central Elementary School, Loon South National High School, Loon North Central Elementary School, Loon North High School, Lopez Dano Simbajon High School, Sandingan National High School, Cabilao National High School, and all public schools in island, coastal, and riverside barangays.
- Private schools: Sacred Heart Academy, UB–Loon Institute, Saint Teresa Academy, Trinitas Learning Center, Carmelite Learning Center of Tontonan, Inc., and Bohol College of Science and Technology.
- Private sector: Cabilao dive shops and resorts, and the Loon Market Vendors Association.
The success of this endeavor relies on collective effort. Each act of volunteerism, each bag of trash collected, and each coastline restored is a meaningful step toward building a cleaner and healthier environment.
Let us all stand together in this mission—because saving our seas means safeguarding our future.
Making Loon Madanihon rise and shine… from local to global!
