Under the leadership of Mayor Pedro “Dodong” M. Literatus, Jr., the Local Government Unit of Loon was conferred a Plaque of Recognition by the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region VII for its exemplary efforts in implementing effective and innovative Population and Development (POPDEV) strategies at the local level for 2025. The recognition was formally awarded on the 22nd day of October 2025 at the Bayfront Hotel, Cebu City, affirming the Municipality’s strong commitment to people-centered, data-informed, and inclusive development initiatives.
This recognition reflects the collective dedication of the LGU in advancing programs that integrate population concerns into local governance, planning, and service delivery—ensuring that development initiatives respond meaningfully to the needs and well-being of Loonanons.
The Municipality of Loon likewise extends its commendation to Ms. Ma. Marnelli L. Maquindang, Head of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO–Loon), for her leadership and steadfast commitment in steering POPDEV-related programs that significantly contributed to this achievement.
