September 15, 2025
The 37th Regular Flag-Raising Ceremony of 2025 was solemnly held at the Municipality of Loon Activity Center, with the participation of Mayor Pedro M. Literatus, Jr., Vice Mayor Jorge J. Marapao, the members of the 16th Sangguniang Bayan, municipal employees, representatives from National Government Agencies (NGAs), and personnel from both the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Loon. The program was graciously hosted by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), reflecting unity and shared responsibility among the government workforce.

Mayor Literatus opened the ceremony with his signature greeting, “Good morning, Loon Madanihon…”, extending warmth and optimism to all present. He then proceeded with his announcements, focusing on matters of governance and community engagement that transpired in the past week and upcoming activities crucial to the municipality’s development.
On September 11, the Mayor convened a meeting with the department and office heads, particularly addressing concerns raised by the Committee on Finance and Appropriations and the Committee on Education. The discussion centered on deficiencies and pressing needs related to public school application requirements. In preparation for the October 15 Budget Hearing, the Mayor underscored the importance of ensuring adequate budget allocation for the fiscal year 2026, particularly to address the educational and operational demands of the community.
Meanwhile, on September 10, Mayor Literatus highlighted the participation of Loon in the Coastal Law Enforcement Council (CLEC 2), a gathering of several LGUs that emphasizes the preservation and protection of marine and coastal resources. During this assembly, the election of officers from four participating municipalities was conducted, with the Municipality of Loon once again being entrusted with the chairmanship of the council—a recognition the municipality has now earned for the third time since the council’s reorganization. This leadership role underscores Loon’s continuing commitment to coastal protection and sustainable environmental stewardship.
The Mayor also proudly announced the municipal government’s support for the Municipal Athletic Meet, held at the Loon North District, in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) – Loon North and South Districts. Funds were allocated to ensure the success of this event, which fosters camaraderie and excellence in sports among the youth. He further emphasized that the victors of this municipal competition would go on to represent Loon in the forthcoming Sub-Congressional Meet to be hosted by the Municipality of Tubigon.
Looking ahead, Mayor Literatus encouraged active participation in the upcoming 40th International Coastal Cleanup scheduled for September 20, 2025. This initiative, in partnership with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), will focus on designated coastal areas within the municipality. Following the cleanup, a Family Day celebration will be held at Basdacu Beach, with coordination from various municipal departments to ensure smooth organization and community involvement.
The ceremony concluded with the Mayor’s message of perseverance and service, reminding everyone of the shared responsibility to continue working for the welfare and progress of the Municipality of Loon. With his closing words, he reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to a governance anchored on responsibility, inclusivity, and unwavering dedication to public service.
Making Loon Madanihon rise and shine… from local to global!
