The Municipality of Loon, through its 16th Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Health, advises residents to remain vigilant as Tropical Depression Verbena brings heavy rainfall, flooding, and muddy conditions across the municipality. In light of rising leptospirosis cases, the public is strongly urged to avoid contact with stagnant water or muddy areas and to limit outdoor activities during this period.
Hon. Marie Hazel Saavedra reminds parents to check their children for any open wounds (samad) and to practice proper handwashing and hygiene—simple yet effective measures to prevent illness.
