The Municipality of Loon proudly relays the successful participation of its barangay and municipal agriculture stakeholders in the Capacity Development Program organized by the Provincial Government of Bohol under the leadership of Governor Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado on June 9, 2026, at the Ceremonial Hall of the New Provincial Capitol.
Representing the Municipality were Punong Barangays, Barangay Kagawads serving as Agriculture Committee Chairpersons and Members, Barangay Livestock Aides (BALAs), leaders of farmers’ and fisherfolk associations, Municipal Councilors handling agricultural concerns, and personnel from the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Loon.
The activity provided valuable learning opportunities through technical discussions on climate-smart agriculture, fisheries and freshwater aquaculture development, livestock and poultry-based livelihood programs, the Bantay Rabies sa Barangay initiative, and various provincial livelihood support interventions.
This initiative strongly complements the agricultural development agenda of Mayor Cesar Tomas M. Lopez, M.D., which focuses on empowering local farmers and fisherfolk, enhancing food security, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and strengthening grassroots capacities to build resilient rural communities.
The Municipality of Loon extends its sincere appreciation to the Provincial Government of Bohol, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, Department of Agriculture, Provincial Legal Office, and Provincial Cooperative Development Office for their continued commitment to advancing the agricultural sector and supporting the growth of farming and fishing communities throughout the province.
Through collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, Loon remains committed to cultivating a more productive, sustainable, and food-secure future for every Loonanon.
