LGU-Loon Advances Digital Capacity Building Through ICT Literacy Training with DICT-Bohol

Continuing its strong commitment to digital transformation and capacity development, the Municipality of Loon actively participated in an ICT Literacy and Competency Development Training facilitated by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) through the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau, held on June 19, 2025, at the Municipal Activity Center, Loon, Bohol.

The program was led by Mr. Victor Magallanes, Provincial Officer of DICT–Bohol Province Office, with technical sessions delivered by the highly competent resource team of DICT. The training delved into two essential modules:

“Basics of Computing and Computer Essentials” conducted by Mr. Jimmy B. Ratilla, REE, and

“Digital Citizenship and Cyber Hygiene”, led by Mr. Jay Mar Masibay, Center Manager, PDO II, together with his team.

The sessions focused on strengthening the participants’ foundational knowledge in digital tools and responsible digital behavior. Topics included proper netiquette, basic troubleshooting techniques, and key practices in cyber hygiene—all aimed at ensuring a safer, more efficient, and digitally responsible LGU workforce. These competencies are vital for day-to-day operations and for ensuring data security and service delivery within LGU offices.

This initiative came directly after the recently concluded 3-day Data Privacy Training Workshop, further solidifying LGU-Loon’s efforts in aligning its internal systems with the principles of secure, ethical, and progressive e-governance.

The LGU of Loon extends its deepest gratitude to the DICT-Bohol team for generously sharing their time, expertise, and dedication in empowering local public servants with the necessary skills to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Padayon sa pag uswag, Loonanon! Together, let’s build a smarter, safer, and more digitally empowered Municipality of Loon.

Making Loon Madanihon rise and shine… from Local to Global!
