DAY 2 of 3: Strengthening Digital Governance: Loon Takes a Step Forward in Data Privacy and Innovation

As part of the Municipality of Loon’s ongoing commitment to advancing local governance through technology, innovation, and digitalization, in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the second day of the 3-day Training Workshop on Data Privacy and Conceptual Framework was successfully held on June 18, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Colegio De Loon Computer Laboratory, located at the center building of Loon Town Square.

Designated focal persons from various LGU offices actively engaged in intensive discussions and practical sessions focused on the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)—a crucial pillar of the Data Privacy Framework. Topics covered during Day 2 included the Data Processing Life Cycle, Personal Data Inventory, Risk Identification, Security Controls, and the creation of a Risk Map, all of which are vital in managing and safeguarding sensitive information in public service.

This training initiative, aligned with the requirements of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), aims to enhance the capacity of LGU personnel in ensuring proper data handling, privacy protection, and risk management, as well as to establish a unified digital governance framework for the Municipality of Loon.

By equipping its workforce with the right tools and knowledge, LGU-Loon reaffirms its dedication to building a more transparent, accountable, and secure digital environment for all Loonanons—paving the way toward a future-ready, tech-enabled, and citizen-focused public service.
