The Municipality of Loon hosted the 2023 year-end meeting of the Coastal Law Enforcement Council (CLEC) Cluster 2 held at the Loon Activity Center, Municipal Hall, Loon, Bohol on December 13, 2023.

Loon Mayor and CLEC Cluster 2 chairperson, Elvi Peter L. Relampagos welcomed the participants to the activity,

who included: Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO) head, Jovencia B. Ganub; CRM Sector head, Maria Villa I. Pelindingue; BPEMO personnel; Cortes Vice Mayor Rodrigo Dennis B. Uy; Maribojoc Vice Mayor Emilio J. Castilla; Maribojoc COP, PCapt Luciano A Fuentes; Maribojoc MPDC Yannie Chiu; US Peace Corps volunteer-CRM Caroline Denniston, and the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) chairpersons of the Committee on Environment and Committe on Agriculture & Fisheries of the municipalities of Cortes, Maribojoc, Loon and Calape.

Also in attendance were the PNP-Police Environmental Desk Officers (PEDOs), municipal agriculturists, fishery technicians, municipal environment and natural resources officers (MENRO) , coastal resource management officers (CRMO), CLEC 2 coordinator, CLEC 2 secretary, and Bantay Dagat coastal law enforcers of the four municipalities.

The CLEC Cluster 2 is composed of the municipalities of Cortes, Maribojoc, Loon and Calape and is created and mandated (along with the 7 other CLEC Clusters in the province of Bohol) for the conservation and preservation of the marine and coastal resources, and protection of municipal seawaters from unscrupulous persons and illegal fishers, in coordination with the BPEMO, Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), PNP-PEDO, Philippine Maritime Police, Philippine Coast Guard and other concerned government agencies.
