The municipal officials, department and office heads, and regular and casual employees of the Local Government Unit of Loon, Bohol had a grand and merry time when they convened to hold the LGU Family Day 2017 on September 30, 2017 at the Tubig-Loon Spring Park in barangay Cogon Norte.
Conducted to culminate the celebration of the month of September as Civil Service Month, the whole-day activity was also attended by national line agencies officials and employees that included the DILG, Liga ng mga Barangay, PNP-Loon, BFP-Loon, Municipal Trial Court, Comelec and Post Office.
Loon Mayor Elvi Peter L. Relampagos and Municipal Councilor Pedro M. Literatus Jr., representing Vice Mayor Lloyd Peter M. Lopez, MD, led in the celebration which bannered the theme, “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayan.” The different departments and offices were divided into eleven groups clad in Hawaiian attire that participated in the parlor games interspersed with exhilarating fun and surprises.
The activity started at 8:30 in the morning with the registration and checking of attendance, followed by a holy mass at the Our Lady of Light Parish. The opening prayer was led by Ms. Polly R. Guballa, executive assistant to the mayor; while the singing of hymns was conducted by the Ms. Julie C. Cavero, community organizer; followed afterward by the welcome message of Mayor Relampagos.
The RHU 1 and RHU 2 personnel provided the opening hataw of the Family Day followed by the parlor games. A sumptuous lunch with a variety of tasty and delicious foods and drinks was then imbibed by everyone. The different groups then presented their terpsichorean talents adding much enjoyment to the activity.
The LGU Loon Family Day was capped by the presentation and giving of tokens the Loyalty Awardees who have rendered 20 years of service to the LGU; giving of awards to the winners of the parlor games and closing remarks of the OIC, HRMO, Ma. Theresa U. Gomez.
